The IPH Group celebrates World IP Day

World Intellectual Property Day is held each year on 26 April to raise awareness of how trademarks, copyrights, and patents impact everyone’s daily lives.

This year’s theme was ‘IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future’, with both IPH and member firms taking the opportunity to recognise the achievements of the innovators of tomorrow, as well as our junior IP practitioners who work alongside them.

This included AJ Park client Logan Williams, Managing Director of Shear Edge, who in 2020 made the Forbes 30 under 30 list for Industry, Manufacturing and Energy (Asia), as well as AJ Park’s Bree McElroy and Ashleigh Ooi, and Griffith Hack’s Radhika Moore, Jessie Shu and Shinami Kikukawa.

When asked what excites him about his future career in IP, Shinami, a trainee patent attorney, highlighted the unique position that IP practitioners are in, being able to witness innovation taking place first-hand. Jessie, an IP lawyer, explained how opportunities for IP practitioners develop just as quickly as technology evolves, creating a very exciting and challenging work environment.

IPH and its member firms are committed to promoting the career development of the junior IP professionals employed across the Group, and to providing up-and-coming inventors with the support required to protect their innovations. In this way we can ensure subsequent generations are equipped with the means to create a better and more sustainable future.
